world greatest civilisation once developed in india in harrapa and mohamjodaro but what was the reason that it went down. harrapa civilisation had about 2 lakh people living there, on the other hand mohonjodaro was even more larger with a more number of people living there .
they were highly developed. this fact can be deduced from the fact that when pyramids were being build at that time harrapa was already a developed and organised city. the question is still then why India declined to present status.
pre-harrapan civilization had its root most probably in mehergarh in pakistan. people from there spread towards east and understood the power of water, air and fire. this fact is evident from the early vedas, which shows Indra, varuna and agni as major God in contrary to Gods of later vadic period who where brahma, vishnu and Mahesh. although these vedas are thought to be of vedic age whoch started after Indus valley civilization but it gives enough insight. Indus civilisation started to decline in 1500 BCE and vedic age spans around 1500-500BCE. also barley and wheat are the staple food of both IVC (Indus Valley Civilisation) and the early vadic age which later got changed in later vadic age to rice so there is never a sudden change in materialisstic society. moving further you might have encountered various fact about IVC like they had vary organised water harvesting system, they had bathroom atttached to there cubical room made of bricks and road were made of fire cooked bricks. apart form these there language are yet to be deciphered. many believe that the signs and symbol that were fouund in seals of IVC are just a pictographic, logographic and not alphabetic.
was there any difference between IVC and early vadic period ! answer is yes for example most of the researchers (source: history of early india--by romila thapar) thinks that people of IVC used to read from right to left. but we have vadic texts that is read from left ot right.
trade:
IVC had trade relation with mesopotamia and oman.
